New pics

And finally because I have been so slack some new pics of Miss Anabel and a pic of Troy and Renees girls a thier naming day

Shopping done

Its amazing what yo can do in a short space of time the boys and I picked up Kase on Thursday and headed to Carindale to try to get the Xmas shopping done and then to Cannon Hill and am pleased to report all but done as for the wrapping thats another story hopefully will finish it today. I have to say that I have scored some brilliant on line bargins as well 2 little people sets the big farm and playground sets for $25 bucks with postage and the zoo and village for $30 all in excellent condition with all the bits and a kitchen and chicco supermarket for $40 and the latest a little tikes shopping trolley for $14 all great and Anabels not going to care if they are in boxes or not. Also scored Tom a brand new Ipod nano 8gb for $117 with postage I was rapped as the cheapest we could get it was about 180.
On the way home though I got all the way back to town and saw the police sitting at the high school there was a car behind me and I saw him put his lights on and I was laughing to myself but the car pulled over guess who they were after arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh. This is the funniest ever "maam you were talking on your mobile " hilarious because anyone that knows me knows that if I can actually find my mobile it's very rarely on and Anabel was playing with it last week so as for its present location its in the dolly pram at home . So there was this whole I laughed and explained about said phone so he asks whether anyone else in the car has a mobile and anyone thet knows teens knows that they don't leave home without them. So Luke had to get out while they searched the floor in the front to see if I had thrown it on the floor scary if you have seen the floor of my car lately. So then he says did you have your hand up to your face duh probably cause I sure as heck wasn't on a mobile , so after being breathalized they let me go .Gees I know they have a job to do but they could have done it somewhere else !!!!!!!!!!

Telephone

Forgot to mention the message on answering machine Had a s_ _t of a day and got home to this message from guess who .............. hellooooooo........hi................granma.......... we were rolling with laughter was telling Kase about it and she had no idea ............. but how she does love to chat...... we can't bring ourselves to erase it..

ONE day to go......... moving classrooms arghhhhhhhhhhh I have been very spoilt the whole time at work with the teachers I work with I have had 2 brilliant long term stints and have been working with Kate for nearly 5 years so sad to learn I am off to be with new teacher for next year . Still prep/1 be an interesting year It will be GREAT!!!!!!!!!!

Party day today and it was sad to see the kids go (mostly) we don't encourage them to come on the last day as we have to clean move get organised we think we will have one preppy or maybe she will change her mind its sad because there really is nothing for them to do . Crappy week to be doing it .It is sooooooo hot spent some time in the shed at work yesterday gosh it was loike a sauna I sweated buckets thank god I just have to put stuff in there 2morrow. Its been a fantastic year but roll on 3.00 o'lock 2morrow ********** Then I will have to put in some serious shopping have almost finished Anabel and Jem but thats abut it .Toms easy he is buying a new trumpet and at almost 3 1/2 grand he wants cash to put towards it . He also bought his first car its just an older mazda but we know the car and it doesn't need much to get it on the road so between that and the trumpet he won't have much money left from the coles job but he'll get there

5 DAYS TO GO ............YIPPEE

I can't wait only five days to go now I have reread some of my blogs and maybe it seems that i hate my job as I am always hanging out for the holidays......Not true I love my job but am over the year the prep/year one thing has been hard work but the kids mostly are great and I will miss them but they are so ready to move on .......I think its the lead up that kills it spent last week doing individual video cds for the Xmas pressy for the parents and its amazing how much they have all grown since the beginning of the year ..so I must say I a really happy with how they turned out although my watcher Jem is over the preschool song thing.
Then there is getting ready for the next year argghhhhhhhh......

Can not wait have been shopping and I have to say I love shopping for Anabel where were all these cool toys when our kids were bubs have decided (nuts) that I will finish next week .

Noel is taking holidays this year with us so that will be a nice change.

This will be the first year that all our kids haven't been all together xmas day so it will be different but boxing day will be great except that Nat has to work .

Anyhow will post again soon oh before I go haven't put a pick up of the girl for a while . She rang us the other day and it is so gorgeous we don't think we will ever erase it .

November

Well where has the year gone I've been so busy with work it was brilliant that the kids bought us a weekend down at Pottsville for our birthdays which we love the best place to relax .......could have stayed there heaps longer or at least could have left my sinuses behind. Ten days of antibiotics and antihistimines and all I have acheived is not having to absolutely live on panadol Have to front up for the cat scan so I guess we will see if I really do have a brain.
Now birthdays have been put on the back burner over the last few years here after Dad died the day after Noels birthday and his funeral was just after mine so it puts a damper on things . But we can't thank the kids enough we really needed to get away THANKS we love ya all heaps.......and Tommy still love and miss you heaps and poor Jem is lost without you

Well there is only 10 working days left till the holidays (but whose counting) six weeks of bliss after I go Xmas shopping I always used to be organized arghhhhhhh........it just never happens anymore. We had our work party last night really I am so lucky i work with the best people in the world and we had an absolute ball mind you must be getting old we were all dragging a chain this morning

It's been fantastic to see Renee and the girls down from Tennant Creek this week Troy arrives tomorrow for the rest of thier stay and the girls naming ceremony on the 14th Dec I can not beleive how much the girls have grown scary Amelia was just a little baby when they left and is now a toddler .

And finally a birthday wish to Lincoln who is 2 this week and also Vikki for the 13th Noel for the 17th and Hil for the same day love to all .........

Went to a work conference on the pupil free day and it was brilliant we had 2 motivational speakers first woman we had reanmed all the days of the week hilarious Monday is Magical Monday(but its still bloody Monday) terrific Tuesday WOW Wednesday and the list goes on so we are all terrific today and tomorrow we are all gonna be WOW (apparently) its been the thing of the day at work today I have six days of relief teachers coming up starting 2morrow so I am not sure how terrific, wow I'm going to be for the next week.
The guy we had was FANTASTIC all about behaviour management and boys it was so well done really worthwhile I thought he was so down to earth but funny with it conference went over time but no one cared. Hope we get him again

Back to work

Holidays over and have survived the first week back at work (THANK GOD its FRIDAY). It was great to see the kids again (mostly) and we are back into it with a vengance not long to go now so are really cranking them along to get them ready to go to year 1 and 2. Spent today trying to work out my timetable so much has changed now I have to do the swimming thing with the year 1's it means I have to shuffle my speechies around to fit them all in arghhhhh. So it looks as though its going to be a busy term on the other hand it's fantastic to see how our preppys have grown this year and how confident they have become and amazing to see how many of them are so ready to go to year 1.
Had Mia on the weekend and she was great no hassles little miss smiley( she has 2 teeth) loved having her but I would never want more of my own ( there are reasons for not having kids in your 40's). I could not do it full time again (maybe I had too many kids LOL)
Luke finishes uni for the year in a couple of weeks hard to beleive he has almost finished his 1st year.
Miss Anabel is becoming a very chatty little girl she likes to talk to Grandad on the phone and tell him things I get the occasional day where she wants to tell you stuff. Today she wanted an iceblock at 6.30 am and was most upset when Mum said no she's a funny thing. So grown Up!!!!
She loves Upsy Daisy and Ickle Pickle and the fairies but was a little bit addicted to Raggs the last time she was here and was most disgusted if you turned them off.

Home

We actually made it to the airport in time to pick up Tom even Anabel tagged along seeing that she had been looking for Tom everywhere and wasn't quite sure what we had done with him. The only thing missing as we are looking at everyone else coming out from the tour was TOM. Tom had a hand grenade in his bag and was stuck in customs ...............well not a real one but he had forgotten about it in the rush to pack it was actually a belt buckle so eventually they let him out funny though(not at 6.30 in the morning lol) He had a fantastic time and I think would like to have stayed a bit longer but all good things must come to an end. We haven't looked at the pics yet but will download them today hopefully . He had a great time and the family he stayed with were brilliant . Tom came home and crashed for the afternoon and I haven't seen him yet today .
Can not beleive that he holidays are nearly over again but I have achieved a lot these holidays Tomorrow I get to have Mia for the weekend so we will see how that goes. Will have to pull out the cot again as Anabel is in her toddler bed now

Tom in Japan

Tom has arrived safely in Japan and is loving it he is staying with a great family with 2 little ones 8 months and 2 he has to call the parents mama and papa san so as not to confuse the kids . He was off shopping today (hopefully not buying chopsticks Kase!!!!! :( ). I was a bit worried as he has never flown before but Singapore air look after them. Although the flight time was plain rude 11.44pm I didn't end up staying after they went through security so I ended up getting home as they were taking off.
I am almost throught my holiday list of things to do so I might even end up with nothing to do although I keep finding stuff. I have decided since Tom is gone for 12 days that I might do his desk. I love this old desk it belonged to Noels aunty it was made for her when she got married at 19 and she passed away at 96 and I've had it for a few years so its probably time. We will see if it happens. Ihave to go and do Mums windows (she has way too many windows if you ask me )Yukkkkk but only if i get mine finished tomorrow. The things we do!!!!!!
Jeremy knocked down his little cubby house yesterday we decided that it wasn't safe anymore for Miss Anabel but she loves it so we will make her another one ,and Jem had a great time too.
So we dumped that and have filled the trailer again so there will be another trip tomorrow I don't know where it's coming from now,but the yard looks great we just have to get the grass off the paths and pull down the old pool fence and put up the new panels that have been sitting there for probably a year now and get the pool up and running again and we are home and hosed. hopefully anyhow until it all falls apart after I go back to work. There is something to be said for staying home. But now hopefully I can get some time in with Anabel and crack open some movies knowing that it's all done.

More holidays !!!!!!!! yeah

One Day to go holidays can't wait its been a long term. Even better all the hard work is nearly done . We got the inside of the house painted which was a total pain in the butt -but has been brilliant in another way we are having a major cleanup or cleanout and are being ruthless its official I am the dump man's best friend just a few more picys to put back on the walls and the inside is pretty much done and a yard cleanup and the outside is done ...........yes we even ventured into the SHED which is scary but it is as neat as a pin and you can walk into it and that's a nice change. I even pulled out all the toys of the kids that i had kept and found some vintage cabbage patch dolls that I washed up for miss Anabel so now she has more babies (her favourite thing) and Kaseys dolly cradle and bed and doll house which is going to be my next project.
Have finished the toddler bed and she now has one at home and one here that we made and it turned out better than I expected i will get some pics and post soon. So she is a big girl now.
Tom passed his music exam he got an A so he's happy and is off this Sunday to Japan for 12 days
Not happy bout the flight time though nearly midnight so that will be fun coming home.
Luke finishes his first year at uni in a few weeks and is doing ok

Birthdays and more music

August has got to be one of the busiest months for birthdays
To Paul Happy birthday for the 8th

To the two sisters who share the same day: Sharlette happy 3rd birthday and to Amelia a very big happy first birthday for the 9th ( Renee pressys on thier way) slack

And a very happy birthday for Jen for the 12th

Josh for the 29th

Hopefully I will post again before Nathan 21st and Tom 30th have thier birthdays but if not Happy birthday boys

Tom and Luke left on Saturday for a music tour to Melbourne,Bairnsdale,Canberrra,Jindabine after a dash to the city when someone left thier suit bag behind with all the performance clothes in it. So after a VERY early start and a trip to Brissy with a very appologetic Luke in tow they finally left and are now quite probably freezing thier butts off. Why anyone would want to go south for winter is beyond me!!!!!!!! I'd be a crappy duck..........
Tom is hanging out to go and see the Duntroon Military band(they are having a workshop with them) no secret thats where he wants to go when school is finished. They are off to see Wicked the stage show while they are there. So it is pretty quiet here this week. Mind you next week will be different when Tom is home madly practicing for his next music exam on the 30th nice birthday pressy and In 4 weeks Tom leaves for Japan with Logan music so it is all happening here........

I have almost finished the toddler bed and it is looking great can't wait to finish it though and then I am going to make one for our house (well that's the plan) they want so much for them and I don't want to spend a fortune lets see if the plan i have makes it from my head into wood Lol

We have met our new neighbours who seem lovely (hey anyone would be great after the last lot) so we are pretty excited that someone has bought the house now no more ferals and it has been so quiet. BLIss

Wednesday, July 16, 2008

Well the holidays are over and am back at work still with a total of nothing done but it was great to see the kids again(well most of them) . Kase and Anabel and Nat left on Monday night to go home so it is very quiet here. Luke left on Monday to go to Cairns with the Qld Youth Symphony lucky duck he gets back on sunday and has to go directly to Uni so he will be back into it with a bang. We are still trying to get him some help with his costs no luck so far so his priority is to find a new job when he gets back
Fantastic that little Amelia went so well in her op and is looking fantastic great to see. It was fantastic talking to the girls and Renee on Sunday and brilliant that they are loving the NT.

Holidays

ARhhhhh Bliss so far acheived on my list of things to do ZILCH zero nothing
but I have thought about it . I have discovered more things that need to be done or I want to be done . Motivation NIL
I have however played with Anabel and have discovered that:
Yes she can go on the slippery slide all by herself
that she loves to sing to herself as she swings and
that if you let her lay on her back on the trampoline and bounce her she squeals with delight she loves to draw with chalk but you have to draw too (grandad draws bunnies and grandma flowers and girly things)
She also loves Jeremys little house which is years old and on a definate lean which we had planned to demolish so what to do. Its solid just leaning so that is another job on my list to see if we can't straighten it up or maybe build another little one with a sandpit attached of course as she has discovered dirt and doesn't mind eating it.
She would spend all day everyday outside if you let her
That she gives the best hugs and kisses
and that it is definately not time wasted

projects

We have just finished doing up a piano for Miss Anabel it was a buck bargain find at a garage sale I only went cause kase spotted some big piggy toy boxes so I went back and scored her 2 toyboxes the piano and a jigsaw puzzle for 7 bucks. Anyhow the piano was pretty beaten up and was missing 2 keys but Noel and I pulled it apart and sanded and stained it and Noel made new keys and its great and she loves it she bops away while she is playing. I'll post some pics in the next day or two.of before and after. Can't wait for the holidays (7 work days to go but whos counting) Noels mum gave us her old kitchen dresser which was his grandmas and I'm going to strip it back can't wait. Then I'm going to do up Anabels toddler bed thanks to Renee its going to be great. My sewing is on the back burner on account of my machine is s__t and I am ready to toss it out the window so all sewing projects are currently on hold which is a crock cause I have four quilts on the go and i want to do Anabel a new one for her toddler bed but anyhow they will have to wait a bit longer sorry to Hannah and Sharlette Luke and Tom but they will get there arghhhhh. Because I can't do anything else I am doing a jigsaw well Nat has done most of it so far but I want to finish it before he comes on the weekend.Fat Chance....................
It was great to see Car and Kaylee on the weekend and Shell and Mia can't beleive how fast all these little bubbas are growing.
Anabel had a run in with the pantry door the other day so now her little thumb is bandaged up her latest game is getting into the pantry and putting her finger in the hinge well poor Luke didn't realise and shut her finger in the door but she is fine doesn't like the bandage though.
Renee had to tell you I am loving your blog and am glad to hear that life in the top end is going so well for you Troy and the Girls miss our coffees and chats though its brilliant.

Happy Birthday Jeremy

Birthdays everywhere Our baby turns 13 tomorrow now I am starting to feel old (thats right I am ) lol He is pretty excited and he scored a chemistry set from Kase and Jeremy and the gang science or at least the blowing up of things (supervised of course) seems to be his latest thing since they showed them how different chemicals react at school so Jem and BF Shane spend a lot of time recreating the things they learn at home (could be worse)I think
Anyhow happy birthday Jem have a great one

Happy Birthday Kaylee Rose

Well hard to beleive but Kaylee is turned 1 today it feels like yesterday that she was this tiny little moppet and now she is a beautiful little toddler. Congrats Kaylz .

Slacker

It's been so long since I posted anything been sick some stupid virus thing where I felt like I am in the outer planet somewhere. I actually had days of work which never happens. Sorry to Car for missing her party we had full intentions of coming but arghhhhhhhh didn't want to spread that one around . Still not feeling 100 % but getting there still. Rotten thing just goes on and on today was probably the first day i actually felt human dragged through work the last 3 days .

Anabel is in residence again terrorising the place she is the funniest little thing . She now has 8 teeth and more on the way and is full of beans always on the go. She runs everywhere and can say heaps of things some understandble and some not but she is getting there. She is saying strings of words now and definately has her own mind. She is into pulling everything and anything out like nappy wipes, tissues, nappy sacks and they never go back into the containers the same way they came out .

Can not beleive that Kaylee is nearly 1 and can't wait to see her for her birthday.

Mia

We had Mia here last week cannot beleive how much she has grown in 6 weeks

Mothers Day

Hope that everyone had a great Mother's Day and were totally spoilt!!!!!! The kids gave me a digital photo frame so now i can have all my favourite pics up brilliant we bought a digital sLR camera not long after Anabel was born and we take so many pics its a great way to have them all up. I still need to practise a lot more with it but Noel is geting really good with it and is taking some great shots of all sorts of different things and getting into macro shots Funny i did a course at work on macro but haven't played with it at all(slack)
We had Anabel here for a few days which is always great gave Kase and Jeremy the weekend off so we had lots of fun with her.She is a riot she has her own mind and knows how to use it an loves going outside . I don't think she walks anywhere these days she is too busy running.
We had bought her a little play frame for home and she loves it and we were given 2 quads a barbie one and a green one so Kase and I decorated it and Kase made number plates for both of them they look great and Anabel has them worked out she's a bit of a hoon on them and would ride all day if you let her.

Wednesday, April 2, 2008

Well it's been a quiet week here no Anabel chasing us around we love it when she is here. Noel says she's the biggest time waster but what a way to waste your time . We miss her heaps when she is not here and wonder what we actually do when she isn't here. We went to visit Michelle and Mia on Saturday night Anabel wasn't quite sure what to make of her to begin with but warmed up very quickly and was fasinated with her nose we got some great pics to send on to Michelle and Ken . It seems really funny to say that Mia is Kaseys cousin when she is smaller than Anabel.

Wednesday, March 26, 2008

Welcome Mia

Congrats and welcome to our latest little neice Mia Ann who was born tonight to Ken and Michelle and who is a long awaited sister to John who is nearly 17 she was 7lbs. Haven't seen her yet but will head down probably tomorrow night and take some pics to post

Easter 2008

We have had everyone home for easter. Anabel enjoyed her morning and would be a definate chocoholic if she was allowed she kept looking for more . Hope everyone has had a great easter and enjoyed the break. Anabel was a tiny little thing last easter and to show how much he has grown we took pics of a big block of chocky with her last year and again this year. Kasey got creative and made us these brilliant little easter egg gardens it looks absolutely fabulous.

Concert

Luke had his first concert for the year Queensland Youth Symphony it was brilliant they also had a feature band Brisbane Brass whose conductor is Luke's music teacher and he is so cranky he knocked back a place with them but with uni bands and prctise with them and Qyo he just couldn't do it I wish I had videod this the conductor peter Morris is amazing. Tom has his first concert with Qyo wind ensemble tomorrow should be fantastic.

Anabel

We have just had Anabel and Kasey here for a couple of days . Grandad got to babysit while Kase went to work(how come I don't get RDO's) (bugger) they had a great day together and much to Kase's disgust got her hooked on red licorice. Well Miss Anabel is certainly on the move now she is walking everywhere and loves it at our house she can just walk straight outside(no steps) loves the swing and the trampoline and my peg bucket. I finally got the rocking horse finished (whoo hoo) she isn't too sure of it yet but she will get used to it .I'm not totally convinced that I like it but it looks ok just different I think. I also finished the trolley covers Anabel has toys on hers that can clip on and off we road tested today (mine) and she seems to like it so now I can send the pattern off to Car and let her have some fun with it.

Projects

Been madly trying to get Miss Anabels rocking horse finished ( I know she has had her b'day) a bit late but hopefully will finish this week have stripped it back to nothing and have stained it in teak just have to do the detail. Have also started Lukes music quilt which I was hoping to have done for his b'day on Sunday but that's not going to happen either I'm not happy with some of the fabric I bought so back to shopping I think i need to keep his black and white .I decided that I wanted to do blackwork blocks and have discovered that no1. I am not an embrioderer (no surprise there)
So I hand drew the trombones on to white fabric and have zig zaged over the drawings in black and I think they look pretty good. I'll post pic when I have a little bit more done. This weeks project is making trolley covers and am very close to having them done and the car seat cover is close as well. ( I don't seem to be finishing much this week) I also have on the go a comical cow quilt for Sharlette can't wait to see it finished and in the post to the N.T . I also bought some really bright flowerpots and bees for Anabel for when I do up her toddler bed(my next project) which was given to us by friends and is painted a hideous blue(but not for long). I can't wait to see it all stripped back as its a gorgeous little bed and hopefully I will get it done before Anabel turns 21.

birthday time

Happy Birthday to our precious grandbaby Anabel how fast the year has gone . We had a fabulous day celebrating with Kase and Jeremy and Anabel. She had a great time cutting her beautiful cake (Kasey you did a great job )and it tasted beautiful too. She was in her glory with most of her Nannys and Grandads there and all her uncles. And of course was spoilt with lots of pressys. It was great to see Car and Jay and Kaylee( she has grown so much) and the girls had a great time together. Happy Birthday beautiful girl !!!!!!!!!!

Slacker

It has been so long since I have left any blogs but have been super busy sewing, painting etc I have been making quilts and bumpers for all the bubbys cots Amelias and Michelles little one ,done up Renee's cot(for Amelia) painted Michelles nursery furniture and am now madly trying to get Miss Anabels rocking horse finished for her birthday. Can't beleive that she is nearly one . She gave us a huge fright when she had convulsions last week (rotten teeth but pleased to say she finally has 6 and knows how to use them ( there is hope Carissa) She is the most adorable little thing and is very vocal now and chats away to us on the phone (when she is in the mood) I'll post some pics tomorrow.
Luke is off to uni next week he is moving into his place on the weekend . We were also super proud when Luke received an Australia Day Award We all went to the presentation dinner and had a great night Anabel had a absolute ball bopping away to the music . Jem started high school and its a huge culture shock for him but he's getting a little more used to it now.
me I'm trying to settle into the whole work thing with the prep/year 1 class they are a pretty good bunch with a few interesting little characters in amongst them. Anyhow thats it for now Ill post soon

Anabels first Xmas

Anabel had an amazing time at Xmas we started off the day with grandad trying his hardest to wake her up (we all know that Noel is the biggest kid) And then the unwrapping began she had a ball for the first few pressys and ended up having a great time in the middle of all the paper.

Welcome 2008

Welcome 2008 another year is here. Saw it in barely we babysat Anabel and Kase .Jeremy,Nat and Luke headed out to celebrate .Kase and Jeremy were home long before 12 we saw the year in and hit the hay. Hopefully it will be a great year for all. 2007 is a standout year firstly because the beautiful Anabel Grace Maree was born to make us first time grandparents which I have to say is absolutely fantastic ( The best surprise we ever got). We wonder sometimes how we can totally besotted by this little girl but we are she is an absolute joy to all of us and has the most beautiful nature and I simply cannot beleive that in a few short weeks she will be turning the big 1.

Secondly Carissa and Jay welcomed thier precious Kaylee Rose into the world ,she could not have been born to more deserving parents after a lot of heartache . So Jen and I get to swap granny stories(when we get time) which we never thought would happen so soon and marvel at the fact that we quite possibly are grannys to the two most gorgeous girls in the world. And I think sometimes how much Tommy would have loved these little girls .

Then there were all the moves Kase and Anabel moved to Coorparoo from the city and shortly after Nat moved there as well and to cap off the year Jeremy moved in with them to finally become a family. We also had a big party year with Luke's 18th,Nats 21st and Miss Anabel's christening. Kase became a godmother to Lincoln (her cousin Kylies little boy) when he was christened.

Luke headed overseas for the third time with his music this time to China and both Luke and Tom played in the queensland youth orchestra.

Noel was up in the air with the council amalgamations and me well I felt like a headless chook a lot work at times was manic.

And the perfect start to the new year Rain Rain Rain which was brilliant (except for the poor buggers up the top here) hopefully it will keep up.

To 2008 well it can only get better if not busier Luke starts uni on the 14th February at QUT

so we will have another move not sure where to yet but probably a student share house .Luke and Tom are both back at qyo Tom in wind orchestra and Luke in Symphony orchestra. Nat is settled into a new job. Kase and Jeremy are still trying to make 2 households into one. Jem is off to high school. Noel gets to stay here once the amalgamations take place. I'm going to prep which should be interesting but I am really looking foward to it.

Anabel turns one.

Michelle and Ken will welcome thier little girl in early April.

My plan for 2008 is to spend more time with family and friends ,sleep more , stress less, sew more get all my vidoes copied from disc. Take more pics (if that is Possible) and learn how to use the new camera,

And finally good health for everyone have a fantastic 08.
